YOUR LOFT SPACE

Most people would admit that their loft is perhaps “a little grubby” - until they see the amount of debris that we regularly remove out of the loft of an average home. The blunt fact of the matter is that many people underestimate what is in their loft and are essentially living under a substantial amount of unsanitary, dusty clutter. No roof cavity is airtight, and dust can seep into the living and sleeping areas though ventilation fans, light fittings, ducts and poorly fitted plaster board sheets. Aside from being a good move towards the general sanitisation of your home, there is evidence to suggest that the removal of the detritus that accumulates in roof spaces over the years can have significant health benefits. The Loft Cleaning Company (UK) is one of the few companies in England to offer this service. Typically, when we clean a loft space, we would normally also replace the old insulation - as this old insulation itself is often one of the main culprits - saturated with dust and grime, and extremely unhygienic.

REMOVAL OF RUBBISH / DEBRIS

Most households use their loft as a repository for unwanted items that they are reluctant to get rid of "just in case". Others move into a new home and find decades of old and unwanted stuff in the loft, such as old boxes, carpets, furniture, an old water tank, and more. The Loft Cleaning Company (UK) can remove all of these from your loft in preparation for cleaning, and either dispose of them or relocate them for you. This task needs to be completed before the removal of insulation and vacuuming can commence. All of this work is done by hand and can only be priced upon inspection of your loft.

VACUUMING / STEAM CLEANING

Once all of the rubbish and insulation is removed by hand and vacuum, we will then vacuum the roof space, including joists, rafters and structural beams, to remove in excess of 75% of the dust from your loft, leaving a clean and dust free environment. We do offer a further deep steam cleaning service for the rafters and joists, which will remove 90% of the dust and grime. The acid test here is that after this steam clean you should be able to touch a joist without any residue remaining on your hand. This service carries an extra cost starting at £100 – all depending on the size of your roof cavity.
